Speaker House of Representatives Bags National Honours Award

Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, Speaker House of RepresentativesThe Speaker House of Representative, Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal was among the 365 eminent Nigerians that were recently decorated with one of Nigeria’s highest national award by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal bagged the award Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) while Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Deputy Speaker House of Representatives bagged the award Commander Order of the Niger (CON).

Other members of the National Assembly that also bagged the honors award are Sen. Bello Gwarzo, Senate Chief Whip (CON), Sen. Maina Lawan, former Deputy Chief Whip, (CON) Sen. Uche Chukwumerije (CON), Sen. Smart Adeyemi (CON), Sen. Mohammed Girgiri Lawan (CON), Sen. James Manager (CON), Sen. Grace Bent (CON) and Sen. Paulker Emmanuel (CON).

The awards list released by the Federal Government also has the names of Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila who bagged Order Federal Republic (OFR), Hon. Babangida Nguroje (OFR), Hon. Mutu Nicholas (OFR) and Hon. Farouk Lawan (OFR).

Some former lawmakers also made the list, they are; Hon. Agunwa Anaekwe, former Speaker House of Representatives (OFR), Sen. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida (CFR), Sen. David Dafinone (OFR), Sen. Jacob Tilley Gyado (OFR), Sen. John Wash Pam (CON), Sen. Udo Udoma (CON), Sen. Joy Emodi (CON), Sen. Isiaka Adeleke (CON), Sen. Ben Obi (CON), Hon. Baba Shehu Agaie (OFR) and Hon. Bello Mutawalle (MON).

The 7th National Assembly has got men and women of proven integrity going by the number of lawmakers that got the national honours award; they should by this award be spurred to make laws that will affect the lives of the common man positively.

Nigerians crave for good and quality representation in the National Assembly as it is the hope of the common man. Nigerians want to see their lawmakers ask government to provide them with good roads, quality education, and constant power supply to help small and medium scale businesses and to improve on infrastructure.

The event which took place at the International Conference Centre Abuja saw men and women from all works of life in attendance.
