THE CNA RECEIVES PRESIDENT NIM

Clerk to the National Assembly, Alhaji Salisu Maikasuwa recieving an Award recentlyThe Clerk further said that National Assembly has always been all active participant in the activities and programmes of the Nigerian Institute of Management.

Alhaji Salisu Maikasuwa further explained that he had facilitated the recertification of 37 members of NIM in the National Assembly, in addition to sponsoring ten Directors to attend the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Leadership Workshop in Ghana early this year 2011.

He informed his guest that the National Assembly had provided adequate transportation to the local Organizing Committees of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) in the years 2007, 2009, and 2010 during their annual conferences here in Abuja.

Alhaji Salisu Abubakar also informed them that there was now an Act that establishing the National Institute for Legislative Studies and that when operational the institute would oversee and conduct capacity building programmes for Staff and Legislators at both the Federal and the State Legislatures.

 Earlier in her address, the President and Chairman of Council, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) Dr. (Mrs.) Sally Nkem Adukwu-Bolujoko, (FNIM) said the visit was necessitated by the need to intimate the Clerk of the National Assembly of the contributions of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) to nation building and to solicit his support for the Institutes Learning and Human Capital Development Programmes by nominating his staff to attend same.

Dr. Adukwu-Bolujoko however said that the institute was being rebranded, revitalized, restructured and repositioned to chart a new course in its derive to entrench  excellent management practices in Nigeria.

The President and Chairman of Council, (NIM) requested the Clerk to the National Assembly to include the Institute among the organizations that would  be nominated to train not just staff of the National Assembly, but to include Senators.

She however said that the Institute had the capacity to design and run tailor-made Human Capital Development Programmes that would build the needs and objectives of National Assembly.
