The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has enjoined Nigerians to support the President Goodluck Jonathan Administration for the speedy transformation of the country.
Reacting to the Supreme Court’s ruling which upheld the election of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate in the April 2011 presidential polls, President Jonathan, Senator Ekweremadu said the judiciary had vindicated the overwhelming local and international assessments of the April polls as free, fair, and one of the most credible in the nation’s recent history.
The Deputy President of the Senate who congratulated President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo for the monumental victory also commended the Congress for Progressive Change candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari and the CPC for towing the democratic path of judicial due process.
He however said that with the CPC’s judicial challenge of the election over, it was time for total and collective governance for progress and prosperity of the country.
“This is not just a victory for the President and the PDP, but also for democracy and rule of law which I expect every stakeholder, including the opposition to acknowledge and reciprocate by joining hands with Mr President to ensure the success of his Transformation Agenda for the good of the nation.” Ekweremadu said.
